I have seen originals at gun shows with price tags at $200. When I saw this one for this price I thought how bad could it be? I was not expecting much, but I was very pleasantly surprised. There is a lot of leather here for the price. The hardware is of good quality, the thickness of the leather is really great, and the stitching looks great as well. Other than looking old the originals I have handled, don’t really have anything on this piece. Guess it might be hard to compare 60 year old leather to new leather, but this is a quality scabbard. Beings it is new, it is tight, but my Garand fit in it just fine. I am playing around with wetting the leather and putting the rifle in a trash bag, reinserting, and leaving to dry, but not sure I could get in back in without tearing the trash bag just yet. For now just letting the rifle rest in it, to take on initial shaping. I would buy again, Great bargain.

Originals now go for $250 and up. This scabbard is top quality: leather, hardware, and workmanship. If you plan to use your scabbard, this is definitely the one to get.

I bought this scabbard for the M-1 Carbine The leather is heavy duty and, judging from originals I have handled, this is as close to an exact replica that you are going to find at any price point. I put Red Wing boot oil on mine to age it a little. The fittings are heavy brass like the originals. The fit and finish is flawless. My M-1 and replica M-1 both fit in it flawlessly.

As every one else as pointed out, this scabbard is high quality and the workmanship on it is, Outstanding! I bough this a couple of years ago and I have used it on my Horse saddle when I go riding the back hills and up on the mountains of Calif. I have also used it on my HD Softail. It Looks and works great. My friends and others who see it always complement on it. and there eyes open up when I take my (M1A) out. The only thing missing is the 20round MG. It wasn’t made for a MG that Big.
